Neum, a small town in Bosnia and Herzegovina, is located at the narrowest point of a five-kilometer-wide spit of land facing the Adriatic Sea, which separates the southernmost part of Croatia - Dubrovnik on the one side, Croatia on the other up to the border of Montenegro.
The port of Neum is the only access for shipping in Bosnia and Herzegovina to the Mediterranean Sea.
