Eltz Castle, on the border between Maifeld and Eifel, was built at the beginning of the 12th century. It was built on an elliptical, 70 m high rock head and is surrounded by the Elz on three sides.

The Bug has been owned by the Eltz family for more than 800 years. The current owner keeps the castle open to the public and on the interesting tours you can admire many exhibits from times past.
